What to do immediately

Before the engineer arrives

  • Note where the draught or light gap is: head, sides or floor. It tells us a lot before we arrive.
  • Report any change in motor sound; a heavier curtain is often the first sign of water-logged slats.

Will repairing seals really reduce heat loss?

At large openings, yes. A worn bottom seal and worn guide liners can leave continuous gaps around the whole perimeter of the door.
