Getting fire doorsets right
Fire doorsets perform as a set. Substituting hardware or altering the leaf on site can undermine the whole assembly.
- Use hardware suitable for the doorset rather than whatever is to hand
- Keep intumescent and smoke seals intact and unpainted
- Ensure the door closes and latches fully from any open position
- Never wedge or hold fire doors open without a compliant hold-open device
- Record inspections so the building's fire safety documentation stays current

Yes. Cylinders can normally be supplied to suit an existing keying or master-key arrangement.
Do you fit access control to steel doors?
Yes. Steel doorsets are frequently installed with maglocks, electric strikes, readers and door monitoring.
Can a fire-rated door have a vision panel?
Where the doorset is supplied with a suitably rated glazed unit, yes. Retro-fitting glazing to a rated door is not appropriate.
How quickly can a damaged door be secured?
We attend to make the opening safe and secure, then arrange the repair or replacement doorset.
